In celebration of the 2013 Country Music Awards, AshleyMadison.com – the world’s largest extra-marital dating site- polled 18,205 of its adulterous members to discover the top 10 country music cheating songs of all time – because who better to judge a good cheating song then an admitted philanderer.
The survey results showed that Garth Brooks’ classic The Thunder Rolls has topped country’s long-time cheating heart favorite Your Cheating Heart, by Hank Williams, as the number one country music cheating song. The results further showed that the best infidelity anthems span generations in a top 10 comprised of down home classics from the 50’s to today’s hottest hits.
Top Ten Country Music Cheating Songs:
“It’s no surprise that adulterers connect with the music of artists who are singing about their own experiences with infidelity,” said Noel Biderman, CEO of AshleyMadison.com. “Celebrity and pop culture have heavily influenced how we perceive infidelity and in the case of country music, our members seem to connect most with artists who have had their own infidelity scandals: from Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, to Garth Brooks, Hank Williams, and Shania Twain. Clearly, if today's country music stars want to top the charts, they need to be singing about their own indiscretions.”
AshleyMadison.com also polled its members to see which country music star had the ‘cheating-est’ of hearts. Taylor Swift was voted as the top country music star with the ‘cheating-est’ of hearts, likely due to the prominence of the latest rumors of infidelity between her and country music legend Tim McGraw. With his own recent infidelities splashed across headlines, country-crooning hunk Jason Aldean was named in second place.
