“In response to our television ads being relegated to 11 p.m. in Australia, AshleyMadison.com has launched a billboard campaign,” says Noel Biderman, President of the extramarital dating website. “The campaign will include the erection of 20 different billboards all across Australia.”
AshleyMadison.com kicked off this billboard campaign two weeks ago by erecting a massive billboard just outside of Sydney Domestic Airport featuring a seemingly naked woman with the line, “Life is Short. Have an affair while in Sydney”.
Numerous complaints have been filed to the Australian Standards Bureau demanding that the billboard be taken down and media outlets across Sydney have also reported on the disgust felt by residents of the area. Ron Hoenig, the Mayor of Botany Bay, voiced his opinion in the Sunday Telegraph, saying the billboard is “very tacky” and that “it’s not a good welcome to Sydney.”
