Fontainebleau the Clear Favorite Amongst Philanderers
The glamorous Miami lifestyle depicted in hip hop videos and iconic 80's television isn't just a facade. According to a new survey from extra-marital dating site AshleyMadison.com, would-be adulterers in the Magic City also prefer to take advantage of the finer things in life. The dating site designed for those already in relationships asked 6,980 of its monogamy-fearing members in Miami which hotels they favor when it comes to an adulterous romp and the super-fancy Fountainbleau topped the list with 32% of the votes. Meanwhile, Rande Gerber's high-end haunt and the Setai rounded out the top three choices.
As for more moderately priced hotels, only the Marriott, the National, and the Clevelander made it to the top ten. See below for the complete list of Miami hotels where they really need to change the sheets more often:
According to Noel Biderman, AshleyMadison.com's founder and the author of Cheaters Prosper, certain hotels have developed a reputation for being hotbeds of marital malfeasance. “Miami is often thought of as America's playground and therefore a certain laissez-fare attitude has been adopted there, even when it comes to adultery. Many Miami businesses make a large percentage of their profits off affair clientele – not just rooms, but lavish room service orders that tend to accompany most steamy affairs – so they're more than happy to turn the other cheek when guests check in under an alias with someone who isn't their spouse.”
Other interesting data revealed by the survey includes the most popular times of day for Miami trysts. The majority of extra-marital meet ups take place between 9am and noon (for the proverbial nooner), while the second most popular time slot was 9pm and midnight (24%).
